The La Rosa industrial park, located in Chauchina, has established itself as a focal point for economic activity and a magnet for new investments. Its strategic position, close to the A-92 highway and the airport, has positioned it as a development engine for the Metropolitan Area municipality.
The latest example of this trend is the establishment of a new Mercadona supermarket, chosen to pilot the company's innovative store model. This decision is interpreted by the City Council as a vote of confidence in the town's potential.
Mercadona, under the presidency of Juan Roig, plans to test its new strategy in 59 stores this year, with a projected investment of 3.7 billion euros. The new store concept, which optimizes internal management and customer service through unified processes like the central bakery, has already been implemented in four locations, including Chauchina.
“"My professional life has been as a salesperson, and when a company comes and tells me they want to invest in my town, the doors are open to them. That's crystal clear."
Mayor Jesús Fernández highlights that Mercadona's arrival joins the presence of other companies like Lidl and the application for a fast-food chain to set up shop, consolidating La Rosa as an economic showcase. He attributes this boom to the park's prime location, with two direct exits to the A-92 and its proximity to the airport.
This confluence of factors has generated a growing demand for available industrial land, an opportunity that the Chauchina City Council seeks to leverage to consolidate employment, activity, and services in the municipality.
Chauchina, with a population of 5,800 inhabitants, currently has 600 registered companies, reflecting significant economic and social dynamism perceived across all sectors of the town.
