The Provincial Council of Granada organized the central Europe Day event in Atarfe, commemorating the 40th anniversary of Spain's accession to the European Union and focusing on youth.
The IES Illíberis in Atarfe was the venue for the celebration, bringing together authorities and the educational community to reflect on the fundamental values of the European project, such as freedom, democracy, and solidarity.
A representative from the Provincial Council of Granada, accompanied by a delegate from the Junta de Andalucía, highlighted the direct impact of European funds in the province. The management of 21 European projects, representing an investment of over 96 million euros, was emphasized.
The delegate for Educational Development of the Junta de Andalucía in Granada, for her part, referred to the Strategic Plan for the Internationalization of Non-University Education. This roadmap aims for at least 50% of students to achieve specific language levels at different educational stages.
The celebration also included a dialogue on the role of youth in European construction, organized by the Equipo Europa Association. Additionally, environmental workshops focused on the European Green Pact and recreational activities were held to foster coexistence and the European spirit among young people.
