This initiative, framed within the artistic residency agreement between the council and DA.TE Danza, seeks to consolidate Armilla as a permanent venue for a leading company in contemporary performing arts for children and youth. The alliance between both entities aims to bring dance closer to the daily lives of citizens and recognize its value as an educational, social, and collective well-being tool.
“"Armilla once again places dance at the center of public life as a tool for coexistence, learning, and citizen participation. This second edition demonstrates that culture, when sustained over time, generates community, thought, and opportunities for all citizens."
The program, running from April 14 to April 27, integrates dance into Armilla's social fabric through various activities. Among them are the 'Danzando emociones' workshops at IES Luis Bueno Crespo, aimed at teenagers to work on listening and emotional management through movement.
Additionally, the professional meeting 'Impulsar la danza en Granada' will be held, a space for reflection for creators, companies, and teachers on the sector's situation in the province. The 'Danzar en familia' workshop, led by the company's director, will also be offered, providing a movement and non-verbal communication experience for babies and their families.
The festival will culminate on April 27, 2026, at 9:00 PM in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento de Armilla with the public performance of Únicos, DA.TE Danza's latest show. This work, recognized with the Feten 2026 Award for Best Dance Show, is a contemporary proposal for children and families that reflects on identity, inspired by the plastic universe of Alexander Calder.
