The Armilla City Council, in collaboration with the DA.TE Danza company, has presented the second edition of Armilla Danza, a program of activities that will run throughout April to celebrate International Dance Day.
This initiative aims to bring dance closer to the public, integrating it into educational centers, family environments, and public spaces. The proposal is part of the artistic residency agreement signed between both entities, consolidating Armilla as the permanent home of a leading company in contemporary performing arts for children and youth.

"Armilla once again places dance at the center of public life as a tool for coexistence, learning, and citizen participation. This second edition demonstrates that culture, when sustained over time, generates community, thought, and opportunities for all citizens."
Among the scheduled activities, taking place from April 14 to 27, are the 'Dancing Emotions' workshops at IES Luis Bueno Crespo, aimed at teenagers to work on listening and emotional management through movement. The program also includes the professional meeting 'Promoting Dance in Granada', a space for reflection for creators, companies, and teachers on the situation of the sector in the province.
For families, the 'Dancing in Family' workshop, led by the company's director, will offer an experience of movement and non-verbal communication designed for babies and their parents, strengthening emotional bonds. As a grand finale, on Monday, April 27 at 9:00 PM, the Armilla City Hall Square will host the public performance of 'Únicos', DA.TE Danza's latest show, awarded the FETEN 2026 Prize for Best Dance Show.

"The importance of continuing to build, together with the Armilla City Council, a project that understands dance not only as artistic exhibition, but also as mediation, education, and social transformation. Armilla Danza is consolidated as a meeting point between contemporary creation, citizenship, and territory."
This collaboration, which began in 2023 with the first residency and shared creation actions, has allowed for the expansion of work into mediation, contemporary creation, professional meetings, and the cultural activation of the municipality, consolidating dance as an educational tool and a means for collective well-being.
