The province of Granada experienced an earthquake this afternoon, which was felt across a large part of the capital and its Metropolitan Area. The epicenter, initially located in La Malahá, was relocated minutes later by the IGN to Ogíjares.
The intensity of the seismic movement has been classified as III in towns such as Armilla, Churriana, Huétor Vega, and the capital itself. Other more distant areas, like Padul and La Malahá, registered an intensity of II, the same as recorded in areas like Pinos Puente and Dúrcal.
This has not been the only movement registered recently. Early this morning, the IGN also detected a tremor of magnitude 1.6 in Loja, with a depth of zero kilometers. Previously, on Tuesday, July 21, an earthquake of magnitude 3.0 with its epicenter in Gor was recorded, affecting the entire region.
