The intervention took place on the A4 highway as part of a special security operation established in Seville and its surroundings for the sporting event. Officers identified the individuals and confiscated blunt objects, including knives, sticks, a pistol holster, chains, and balaclavas.
The operation, which involves 1,600 agents, covers both the Sevillian capital and the points of origin and travel routes of the fans. The action in La Carlota occurred on Friday night when two buses carrying radical fans from Madrid were detected.
Following the interception of the vehicles, 91 individuals were identified, and reports were filed for infractions of the Sports Law and Citizen Security Law. The seized material, which included 26 hidden wooden sticks, a mouthguard, balaclavas, two chains, a knife, and paint sprays, is presumed to have been intended for clashes with rival fans.
In addition to this operation, further controls were carried out in Seville on ultras from the competing teams, where more blunt material was seized from cars and vans, notably a box containing 95 iron bars. Other dangerous objects that could be used for assaults and defensive items such as vests, 12 helmets, a knuckle duster, 31 flares, 19 flare launchers, two switchblades, three mouthguards, pepper spray, ultra-symbolism t-shirts, hundreds of protective motorcycle gloves, balaclavas, and a stab-proof vest were also confiscated.
