The Alhaurín de la Torre City Council has hired around 60 people for one year through four new employment and training programs granted by the Regional Ministry of Employment, Enterprise, and Self-Employment of the Regional Government of Andalusia. These programs have a total budget of 1.42 million euros.
The mayor, Joaquín Villanova, and the territorial delegate of the ministry in Málaga, Carmen Sánchez, attended the welcome event for the students, held at the Jabalcuza II Training and Employment Center. Each program is subsidized with €352,809.40 and has 15 places.
Two of the programs are aimed at individuals under 30 years old, and the other two are for people between 30 and 45 years old, with a focus on long-term unemployed individuals for the latter. The training areas include Construction III, Agrarian II, Decorative, and Construction, offering Professional Certificates at various levels and additional training in nurseries, gardening, and land preparation.
The students are hired from the project's start with an alternating work contract, combining training with practical work in municipal facilities, parks, and gardens. Additionally, they will receive support from a labor insertion and employment technician to facilitate their access to the job market and connections with local businesses.
Villanova emphasized the commitment to training in sectors with high job demand, while Sánchez stated that the Regional Government's investment in employment policies in Alhaurín de la Torre since 2019 amounts to 14.5 million euros, aiming to improve professional qualifications and promote labor insertion.
