The celebration of the Coín-Caminito del Rey Cycling Tour 2026 this Sunday will cause traffic interruptions on several roads in the Guadalhorce Valley region. According to the Cártama Town Council, cuts are expected on roads A-7059 (connecting Coín with Cártama), A-7057 (between Cártama Pueblo and Estación de Cártama), and A-7054 (from Pizarra to Cártama).
These traffic impacts will occur approximately between 9:20 AM and 10:00 AM. The sporting event, which will bring together nearly 1,000 participants, will start around 9:00 AM at the Coín fairgrounds and will conclude at the same location after a 120-kilometer route.
The cyclists' route will pass through several municipalities in the Guadalhorce Valley, including Cártama, Álora, Ardales, and El Burgo, going through the area of the Caminito del Rey and the Sierra de las Nieves. Participants will take the A-7059 from Coín, access Cártama Pueblo via the A-7057, and head to Pizarra via the A-7054, passing through the Cártama neighborhoods of Nueva Aljaima and La Aljaima.
“"The Cártama Town Council has informed all citizens about the cuts that will occur on the three roads along which this cycling stage runs. Likewise, they have urged residents to follow the signs and traffic agents responsible for regulating circulation at all times."
This fifth edition of the cycling tour, promoted by the Málaga Provincial Council and organized by the Coín Town Council and the Coín Cycling Club, will take place on Sunday, May 10, and will gather athletes from all over Spain. Cycle tourism, which combines a sporting challenge with a group experience, has seen its participation grow from 500 cyclists in the first edition to a thousand in recent editions.
