The union of both entities, aiming to strengthen basketball in the town, was officially announced at an event held at the El Limón Sports Center. The merger will result in the third largest sports entity in the province of Málaga, bringing together approximately 800 children.
The mayor, Joaquín Villanova, and the Councilor for Sports, Sergio Cortés, supported the boards of both clubs. Villanova highlighted the importance of basketball in the municipality, noting the 30 years of history of CB Alhaurín de la Torre and the 15 years of CB Algazara. He announced that the new Santa Clara Pavilion will be dedicated to this sport and named after Alberto Díaz.
The mayor also expressed gratitude to the parents for promoting sports and values among the youth, as well as the selfless dedication of the boards and coaches.
During the presentation, which featured music and a pleasant atmosphere, various teams paraded before the fans. The 26/27 season begins with the ambition to bring numerous joys to the town of Alhaurín de la Torre through basketball.
