The award, valued at 602,000 euros plus taxes, was granted to the sole company that submitted a bid in the public tender. This process follows several modifications to the bidding terms, designed to optimize costs and attract investors after previous unsuccessful attempts.
The project envisions a building with a ground floor plus three additional stories, including a recessed attic, which will house 52 apartments with one, two, and three bedrooms, as well as studios. The structure, featuring two symmetrical volumes and a central circulation street, will integrate with the existing aesthetics of nearby plots in Torrealquería.
“"To meet the demand of population sectors with lower purchasing power or greater needs, as a consequence of rising land prices, lack of housing construction, and increasing rental costs."
The mayor of Alhaurín de la Torre, Joaquín Villanova (PP), has emphasized the necessity of these homes to address the rising land and rental prices. The new constructions must adhere to the public regime established in Decree 91/2020 of June 30, which regulates the Plan Vive in Andalusia 2020-2030.
The awarded company has a maximum of seven months to submit the necessary studies and projects, and 18 months for the execution of the works from the granting of the municipal license. This project complements the municipal initiative to acquire land for the construction of over 400 social housing units in the Ensanche de Torrealquería sector, whose development had been stalled for two decades.
