The works are being carried out through the Agricultural Employment Promotion Program (PFEA), an initiative managed by the Diputación de Almería that seeks to improve municipal infrastructures and stimulate the local labor market. A PFEA representative has overseen the ongoing actions in these municipalities.
In Laroya, the investment exceeds 30,000 euros, and more than 350 daily wages are expected to be generated. The work focuses on conditioning public spaces and improving infrastructures on Andalucía Avenue. This includes pavement renovation, replacement of the sewage network, and pre-installation of public lighting. Additionally, maintenance and cleaning tasks will be carried out in streets, paths, trails, squares, sports facilities, the cemetery, and irrigation channels, covering gardening, painting, and urban element improvements.
Meanwhile, Lúcar will receive an investment of 120,000 euros, generating 1,373 daily wages. The actions are distributed between the urban center and the neighborhood of Cela. A highlight is the construction of a new masonry kiosk in Cela, which will replace the current prefabricated wooden one. An urban intervention is also planned for Los Gallardos street in Cela, focusing on renovating sewage, water supply, and public lighting networks. The project includes the conditioning and maintenance of over thirty public spaces, such as parks, streets, squares, and sports areas, with tasks including cleaning, clearing, gardening, pruning, and painting of exteriors and urban furniture.
Finally, in Armuña del Almanzora, 120,000 euros will be invested, creating over 900 daily wages. The PFEA actions in this municipality are directed towards the school, public spaces, and urban paving. At the C.P.R. Alto Almanzora, improvements will be made to the support classroom-library, accessible renovation and adaptation of restrooms, and maintenance and painting work. Paving will also be carried out in various public areas such as Camino Gadil, Castillo street, the cemetery access road, and the sports area, along with the conditioning of parks, gardens, streets, paths, irrigation channels, and municipal dependencies.
The PFEA is a model of institutional collaboration involving the SEPE, the Junta de Andalucía, the Diputación, and the municipalities of the province of Almería, with the common goal of improving infrastructures and services, and fostering local employment.
