This competition, celebrating its twentieth edition, is one of the most traditional sporting events in the province. The race will commence at 10:00 AM from Armuña del Almanzora and conclude in Bacares, also passing through the municipalities of Tíjola and Bayarque.
The 21-kilometer course features a positive elevation gain of 700 meters, making it a significant challenge for participants. Although much of the route is on asphalt, it retains the characteristics of a mountain race, notable for its difficulty and the natural beauty of the Sierra de los Filabres.
“"This sporting event has been held in the province of Almería for twenty years, with a 21-kilometer race starting in Armuña del Almanzora and finishing in Bacares. It is a demanding course, a mountain half-marathon that tests the endurance and preparation of its participants, with 700 meters of elevation gain."
In addition to the main race, the day will include an 11-kilometer hiking trail starting from Bayarque, designed for those who prefer to enjoy the scenery at a more leisurely pace. This option aims to broaden participation and offer an alternative that combines sport, nature, and community.
To conclude the day, upon arrival in Bacares, a communal paella meal will be held for all attendees, transforming the event into a regional sporting celebration in the Valle del Almanzora. The race will also award cash prizes to the top finishers, attracting both runners and hikers.
