The recent promotion of Cantoria to Tercera Federación has generated great enthusiasm in the Almanzora Valley, a region of Almería that once again feels the passion for national-level football.

The arrival of Cantoria in Tercera Federación has been met with great anticipation in the Almanzora Valley, a region in the province of Almería that has historically vibrated with football. This milestone recalls the times of splendor experienced by the region with the former CD Mármol Macael, the only team from the area that, until now, had reached a national category.
Towns such as Albox, Macael, Olula, Cantoria, and Tíjola have been home to important clubs over the years. However, only the team known as “marmolista” and, now, Cantoria, have managed to compete at the national level. The loyalty of fans from neighboring towns has been key to keeping this passion alive, characterized by a combative spirit deeply rooted in the area's mining tradition.

"The marble entrepreneurs, led by a prominent figure, made football in Almanzora much more than a sport, investing significantly in a passion that united the inhabitants of the region."

Cantoria takes over from that golden age, when the Mármol Macael of the 90s, driven by the business sector, served as an inspiration for other local teams. Although Cantoria always developed its youth categories well, it remained in the shadow of the powerful marble team. Now, the yellow club assumes football leadership in the region, seeking to restore brilliance and unity through its fanbase.
The passion for football in the Almanzora Valley was experienced in a unique way. Sunday matches at the Ciudad Deportiva de Macael became true sporting battles, where entrepreneurs and workers celebrated the victories of Mármol Macael together. This team not only represented a locality but also carried the name of the region's marble throughout Spain, creating a strong sense of identity and belonging.
