Priego de Córdoba has been recognized as a finalist in Modality 5 of the 2026 Andalusia Tourism Awards, in the «Excellence Inland Tourist Destination» category. This award, granted by the General Secretariat for Tourism, highlights the municipality's unique attractions, its integration into the Sierra Subbética Natural Park, its monumental and archaeological wealth, and the abundance of its water resources.
The resolution emphasizes the urban fabric of Priego de Córdoba, its streets, stately homes, and monuments, with Baroque as the predominant architectural style. It also underscores the value of its archaeological sites and the beauty of its natural surroundings, characterized by limestone elevations and valleys.

The mayor, Juan Ramón Valdivia, expressed his satisfaction, calling the recognition a validation of the work carried out by the Tourism Delegation and other municipal areas. He noted that this success is the result of the efforts of entrepreneurs, merchants, brotherhoods, the Catholic Church, and, above all, the hospitality of the people of Priego.
The official awards ceremony for the Andalusia Tourism Awards will be held next Thursday, the 24th, in Huelva, where the final winners of each modality will be revealed. Priego de Córdoba shares its nomination in this category with the Municipality of Macael and the Geopark of Granada.
The City Council reaffirms its commitment to quality and sustainable tourism development, thanking the Junta de Andalucía for this recognition. Valdivia mentioned the completion of projects such as the new Tourist Office, the Picudo Olive Oil Museum, the reopening of the Castle, and the enhancement of the tourism website.
