Under the theme ‘Stone sculpted by water’, the contest seeks to highlight the area's natural and cultural heritage through photography, with a special focus on the characteristic limestone rock and its interaction with water.
The mayor of Priego and president of the Mancomunidad, Juan Ramón Valdivia, recalled the successful participation in the first edition, which attracted over 280 photographs and led to an exhibition touring the region.
Pedro Rojas, president of Afopriego, explained that the contest is approved by the Andalusian Federation of Photography and will feature a jury of three members from this federation and one representative from the Sierras Subbéticas Natural Park.
Six monetary prizes have been established: 300 euros for the first place, 200 for the second, 100 for the third, and 50 euros for those ranked from fourth to sixth.
Each participant can submit up to four photographs in a free format, allowing editing techniques. The images must not exceed 5,000 pixels and must indicate the specific location within La Subbética where they were taken.
The registration period will be open from September 15 to November 20. The full contest rules can be consulted and downloaded from the Afopriego website.
The awarded and selected photographs will be part of an exhibition to be announced later, with expectations to surpass the participation of the previous edition.
