The work has focused on restoring the deteriorated elements of the viewpoint, built in 1996. Damaged limestone stones on benches and tables have been replaced with similar ones to maintain the enclave's traditional appearance. Existing barbecues have also been demolished and rebuilt using higher quality materials, preserving the original aesthetic.
One of the main innovations is the installation of solar-powered lampposts, which will provide lighting to this space for the first time. According to the City Council, this improvement will facilitate greater use of the viewpoint during summer nights, increasing the comfort and safety of visitors.
The mayor, Mari Fe Muñoz, highlighted that the intervention responds to the municipal commitment to maintain and improve public facilities, while promoting sustainable solutions through clean energy. The incorporation of solar lighting aligns with the municipality's strategy to move towards a more efficient and environmentally friendly model.
The renovation of the La Canteruela viewpoint is part of the initiatives promoted by the City Council to conserve and enhance the municipality's public and natural spaces, aiming to improve their use by citizens and preserve these enclaves.
