The municipal program will fund works and the acquisition of technical means to promote personal autonomy, as well as actions to restore habitability after catastrophes or serious incidents. The mayor of Cabra, Fernando Priego, accompanied by the municipal delegate for Social Policies, Enca Priego, presented the 2026 call for this plan, entirely financed by the council.
This line of subsidies aims to cover works and actions for the adaptation or functional adjustment of permanent primary residences. Beneficiaries include the elderly, people with disabilities, those in situations of dependency, or individuals with mobility or personal autonomy limitations, even if they do not have official recognition of a specific degree.
The call also includes the acquisition of technical, functional, or instrumental means that enhance the autonomy of these individuals or facilitate daily life activities for their caregivers. Furthermore, it provides extraordinary aid for the recovery of homes affected by non-provoked catastrophes or serious incidents, such as fires, floods, earthquakes, or lightning strikes.

The mayor emphasized that the call "is a testament to how public resources can decisively improve people's quality of life when directed towards addressing real and specific needs," highlighting the "social character and direct utility of these subsidies."
The program is funded by municipal resources and positive treasury surpluses, resulting from efficient and responsible management. The mayor stated that "a well-managed administration must be capable of transforming its resources into opportunities, services, and support that directly benefit the well-being of citizens."
Eligibility for functional adaptation aid includes individuals over 65, those with disabilities or in situations of dependency, and those who, even without official recognition, can demonstrate mobility or personal autonomy issues. Applicants must have resided in Cabra for at least one year and in the specific dwelling for at least two months.
For extraordinary aid due to catastrophe or serious incident, individuals or families must prove a minimum residence of one year in the municipality and two months in the affected primary residence. These aids may also apply to annexes or auxiliary buildings linked to the property that support or serve it and are not for commercial use.
Applications, which must include supporting documentation, an explanatory report, and a responsible income declaration, will be accepted until October 16 at the Municipal Social Services Center (Priego street, 28), the General Registry of the City Council, or through other established administrative procedures.
