The Iberoroman Festum Conferences in Almedinilla celebrate their nineteenth edition from August 12 to 16, focusing their theme on the role of Iberian women.

The town of Almedinilla, in the Subbética region of Córdoba, will host the 19th edition of the Iberoroman Festum Conferences from August 12 to 16. Under the title Mulierum Virtutes (Re)discovering Iberian Women, this initiative aims to highlight the historical role of women in Iberian culture.
The program of activities, mostly free of charge, includes events such as a showcooking, monologues, and the traditional Roman banquet. The Delegate of Culture of the Provincial Council of Córdoba, Gabriel Duque, along with the councilors for Culture, Heritage, and Tourism of Almedinilla, Fran Vicente and Natalia Zardain, presented the details of the event, described as "one of the most relevant cultural proposals in our province".
Gabriel Duque emphasized that the conferences attract numerous visitors and demonstrate how historical heritage can be a driver of development for municipalities. These conferences, part of the Singular Projects program, enhance the archaeological sites of Almedinilla, particularly the Roman villa and the Iberian settlement.
Fran Vicente highlighted the historical rigor of the event, which combines leisure, training, and creativity, with the active participation of many local residents. He noted that the municipality receives over 10,000 annual visits, 5,000 of which are linked to this event, characterized as "complete, accessible, and open to participation".
Natalia Zardain stressed the importance of the often-unknown theme of Iberian women, which arises following the discovery of two female Iberian tombs at the archaeological site. Activities like the showcooking and monologues will allow for a closer look at their daily lives.
The full program for the 19th edition of the Iberoroman Festum Conferences is available for consultation.
