The Provincial Council of Córdoba, through its Delegate for Culture, Gabriel Duque, has officially presented the XIX Iberian-Roman Festum Days. The event will take place in Almedinilla from August 12th to 16th and this year will focus on the theme 'Mulierum Virtutes (Re)discovering Iberian Women'.
Gabriel Duque highlighted the importance of these days as "one of the most relevant cultural proposals in our province" and a driver of development for the municipalities. He noted that the initiative attracts numerous visitors and showcases the rich historical heritage of Almedinilla, especially its Roman villa and Iberian settlement.
Fran Vicente, Councilor for Culture of the Almedinilla City Council, emphasized the "historical rigor" of the event, which combines leisure, education, and creativity, with the active participation of "a large number of local residents". He recalled that the local heritage receives over 10,000 annual visits, 5,000 of which are linked to these days, which are "complete, accessible, and open to participation".
The Councilor for Heritage and Tourism, Natalia Zardain, detailed that this year's program will give special prominence to Iberian women, "perhaps one of the least known", partly thanks to the discovery of two female Iberian tombs at the Cerro de la Cruz Iberian settlement. Activities such as show cooking and monologues will be held to explore their daily lives.
