The festival, which began in 2020 adapted for social media, has seen constant growth, receiving videos from all over Spain and abroad. As highlighted by its president, Javier Ibáñez, it has become an international festival.
The call is open to individuals over 18 years old, with no age limit, and welcomes all musical styles. Soloists, duos, trios, and groups can participate, submitting a single performance, which can be either an original composition or a cover. Applications must be sent in video format to the email address festivalpriego@gmail.com along with the official registration form.
The competition will have two phases: a preliminary video evaluation by the jury, followed by a live gala featuring at least eight finalists, ensuring the presence of at least two artists from the province of Córdoba. The finalists will be announced on October 10th.
The final gala is scheduled for October 24th at the Teatro Victoria, although the date may be postponed to November if the renovation works at the venue are not completed on time. If deadlines are met, the festival would be among the first events held in the renovated theater.
The festival maintains significant cash prizes: 2,000 euros for the first prize, 1,000 euros for the second, 300 euros for the third, 500 euros for the special prize for the best artist or group from the province of Córdoba, and 300 euros for the audience's special award.
The jury will consist of professionals from the music industry and will evaluate vocal quality, intonation, performance, and difficulty. Finalists will have the option of performing with a professional band during the final gala, if they wish.
The organization will cover travel, accommodation, and maintenance expenses for non-local finalists, with specific arrangements for participants from the Canary Islands, Balearic Islands, Ceuta, or Melilla.
The festival's new image aligns with the Turismo de Priego brand, incorporating the Balcón del Adarve and the profile of the Sierras Subbéticas as graphic elements to symbolize the musical projection of the municipality.
