The mayor of Cabra, Fernando Priego, accompanied by the municipal delegate for Sports, Francisco Casas, and the president and secretary of the Hunters' Sports Society of Cabra, Juan Romero and Antonio Gutiérrez, presented the thirteenth edition of the Partridge Fair with Lure 'City of Cabra'. The event will take place on December 5th and 6th at the ADIE Center, organized by this collective with the collaboration of the City Council and the Provincial Council of Córdoba, through the Provincial Institute for Economic Development -Iprodeco-.
Mayor Priego highlighted the importance of the fair, which has established itself as a national reference in the sector, and thanked the organization and collaborators for their work. He emphasized the event's impact on Cabra's external promotion and local economy, due to the influx of visitors from across Spain.
Antonio Gutiérrez, secretary of the Hunters' Sports Society, announced that the fair will open to the public on Saturday, December 5th, at 9:30 AM, with the inaugural ceremony at 11:00 AM. He expressed optimistic expectations for the fair's return after last year's suspension, anticipating greater visitor interest and thanking institutional support and commercial partners.
The inauguration will feature a performance by young singer Jesús Reyes and the presentation of the Silver Partridge award, the recipient of which will remain a surprise until the ceremony.
Juan Romero, president of the Hunters' Sports Society, explained that the fair will maintain its usual format with nationally renowned partridge breeders and exhibitors, alongside about twenty stands offering hunting articles, saddlery, cutlery, and food products. Local products such as cured meats, wines, cheeses, and olive oil will also be promoted. The exhibition space is nearly full, with new decorative surprises planned.
The program includes the traditional partridge beauty and singing contest, with awards presented on Sunday, December 6th, around 4:00 PM. Prizes will be given to the top thirty classified birds, with special recognitions. Romero highlighted the high quality of participants, attracting enthusiasts from various autonomous communities.
A tribute will be paid to David Candel, Pedro Buendía, and José Urbano for their contributions to promoting the lure hunting world. The organization also remembered their former president, José Jiménez Osuna, a key figure in the fair's inception, and acknowledged the efforts of the team making its assembly and development possible.
