The UNED Associated Center 'Andrés de Vandelvira' of the province of Jaén, along with the Alcalá la Real City Council, has announced the winner of the contest, held as part of the XXXVII edition of the Summer Courses. The awarded work, which focused on the theme of disability, will be published along with a selection of the submitted stories.
The first prize includes €1,000 and a certificate, to be presented at a public ceremony soon. The honorable mention, awarded with €400 and a certificate, went to Sergio García Carmona.
The jury consisted of Eva María Martín and Julián Medina, UNED Language and Literature tutor professors, and Angélica Jiménez, Head of Press for the Alcalá la Real City Council.
The book compiling the winning and selected works will be presented at the inauguration of the new academic year in Alcalá la Real next November.
Patricia Aliaga Rodrigo is a Spanish writer with a degree in Economics and a Master's in Applied Economics. Her narrative work explores identity, fragility, and power relations, blending humor, psychological inquiry, and contemporary reflection.
She has published novels such as 'Nunca es tarde para aprender a bailar' and 'A prueba de hervor', which won the Feel Good Literary Award 2026. Her career has been recognized with multiple literary awards.
