The Regional Government of Andalusia has introduced the new Law on Productive Spaces of Andalusia (LEPA) in Alcalá la Real, aiming to modernize industrial parks and strengthen the electrical grid with a new substation.

The acting Minister of Industry, Energy, and Mines, Jorge Paradela, along with Vice Minister Cristóbal Sánchez, unveiled the Law on Productive Spaces of Andalusia (LEPA) at the Municipal Business Center of Alcalá la Real. The event was attended by Mayor Marino Aguilera, along with other institutional and business representatives.
Mayor Aguilera expressed gratitude for choosing the town to present the legislation, emphasizing that the law provides security and improved conditions for industrial parks, companies, and workers, fostering opportunities in inland municipalities. He highlighted local investment in industrial infrastructure, such as the connection between the Llano Mazuelos and El Chaparral industrial parks.
During the presentation, Minister Paradela urged the Central Government to include the new Mazuelos electrical substation (220 kV) in the electrical infrastructure plan up to 2030. This project, with an estimated investment of 6 million euros, aims to reinforce the grid and support the industrial growth of Alcalá la Real, a request also supported by nearby provinces like Córdoba and Granada.
The LEPA primarily aims to modernize Andalusian industrial parks, which host nearly 20% of the region's business fabric. The minister noted the sector's strong performance, with nearly 10% growth in Andalusia in 2025, compared to 2.3% nationally.
The Regional Government of Andalusia supports these improvements with an incentive call worth 50 million euros. Alcalá la Real was highlighted as an example of an industrial municipality, featuring four parks (Llano Mazuelos, Fuente Granada, El Retamar, and El Chaparral) covering over half a million square meters and hosting 155 companies and 162 establishments.
