This acquisition is a crucial step following the signing of a collaboration protocol in December 2024 between the mayor, Marino Aguilera, and the regional Minister of Justice, Local Administration and Public Function, José Antonio Nieto. Since then, all necessary procedures have been managed to facilitate the sale of the land to the council.
The future judicial headquarters will involve an estimated investment of 5.4 million euros and will be built on a space exceeding 2,300 square meters, with the possibility of future expansion. With this purchase, the City Council fulfills its commitment to provide the Junta de Andalucía with the necessary land for the project's execution.
“"The acquisition of this plot is a fundamental step that demonstrates the City Council's commitment to this strategic project for Alcalá."
Mayor Aguilera also pointed out that this initiative will contribute to balancing the city's urban development, strengthening the northern area and improving access to essential public services. Furthermore, he emphasized that the new judicial headquarters will not only optimize the working conditions for justice professionals but also offer a more agile and accessible service to citizens, adapted to current needs and with growth potential.
Once the relocation to the new facilities takes place, the current courthouse building can be used for municipal purposes, expanding the resources available to local associations and groups.
