The initiative, organized by the Ayuntamiento's Department of Tourism and Heritage, welcomed visitors from various parts of the province of Sevilla. Teams covered a distance of between 3.5 and 4 kilometers with an elevation gain of 70-80 meters and medium technical difficulty. This year's route was titled ‘The Awakening of Arbórea’s Memory’.
In addition to the hikers, the park hosted numerous people who enjoyed a day of activities in contact with nature. There were workshops such as 'Magic Wand', 'Secret Potion', 'Flower Crown', and 'Magic Stones', along with face painting, entertainment, DJ music, food trucks, and a refreshment service.
The organization, which collaborated with the CD Hijos del Viento de Guillena, provided each participating team with a backpack containing the necessary materials. ‘La Ruta Encantada’ functions as an escape room, where participants must find a six-digit code by overcoming challenges at 11 different locations, each representing a fantasy world inhabited by beings like fairies, gnomes, and trolls.
This past Saturday's route was dramatized with the presence of magical forest creatures, although the activity can also be undertaken independently throughout the year.
