The Municipal School Council met on September 30th in the plenary hall of the Guillena City Council to determine the free disposition days for the educational centers in Guillena, Las Pajanosas, and Torre de la Reina for the 2026-27 academic year. The proposal will be sent to the Provincial Delegation of Education of the Junta de Andalucía for ratification.
The established calendar of free disposition days is as follows:
-Guillena (schools Andalucía and Guliena, Institute El Molinillo, Adult Education Center, and Municipal Music School): April 15th and 16th, and May 3rd, 2027.
-Torre de la Reina (school Ntra. Sra. del Carmen): April 16th, May 3rd, and May 14th, 2027.
-Las Pajanosas (school Virgen del Rosario): March 2nd, April 16th, and April 30th, 2027.
-Guillena (schools Andalucía and Guliena, Institute El Molinillo, Adult Education Center, and Municipal Music School): April 15th and 16th, and May 3rd, 2027.
-Torre de la Reina (school Ntra. Sra. del Carmen): April 16th, May 3rd, and May 14th, 2027.
-Las Pajanosas (school Virgen del Rosario): March 2nd, April 16th, and April 30th, 2027.
The municipal school council comprises representatives from the educational centers of Guillena, Torre de la Reina, and Las Pajanosas, including principals, teachers, administrative staff, parents, students, and the City Council.
The Councilor for Education, Manolo Vázquez, reported on the maintenance and improvement works carried out in the educational centers during the summer. Additionally, the Council was informed about the upcoming launch of a new edition of the program ‘La montaña en la escuela’ (The Mountain at School), in collaboration with the athletics club Hijos del Viento. The inter-school final is scheduled for March 10th, 2027.
Furthermore, the councilor announced that a meeting request has been sent to the Provincial Delegate for Education of the Junta de Andalucía to discuss various educational needs within the municipality.
