The city of Linares will have an extensive security operation during the celebration of the San Agustín Fair, taking place from August 27th to September 1st. The Local Security Board, chaired by the acting Government sub-delegate, Pedro Garrido, and the mayoress of Linares, Auxi del Olmo, has analyzed the resources allocated to ensure the smooth running of the festivities.
The main objective of the operation is to ensure citizen tranquility, maintain public order, and guarantee a rapid response to any incident. The National Police will increase its presence, especially during peak hours and at night, covering various points in the city where fair activities will take place.
The National Police Cavalry Unit will be present during the bullfighting events, along with the Operational Response Group (GOR) and the Prevention and Reaction Unit (UPR). This is in addition to a reinforcement of five officers for the usual patrol cars.
The Civil Guard will intensify surveillance through traffic controls in peripheral areas and city access points, paying special attention to preventing robberies in urbanizations and surrounding areas.
Personnel from the National Police, Civil Guard, Regional Police, and Linares Local Police will establish coordinated operations for the protection of attendees. Various scenarios and planned actions by each security force have been studied.
Finally, a call has been made to the public to maintain civic and responsible behavior, and to collaborate with the Security Forces and Corps to ensure the San Agustín Fair proceeds normally.
