The head of the investigating court number 1 in Linares has ordered the provisional release of the five national police officers who testified this weekend before the court. Four of the officers were detained, while a fifth appeared as investigated.
These precautionary measures, which include the obligation to appear periodically before the court, passport confiscation, and a ban on leaving national territory, were imposed after judicial statements made during duty hours.
The judicial investigation focuses on alleged crimes against public health and membership in a criminal group, among other potential offenses.
The officers were brought before the court as part of a police operation carried out by the Internal Affairs unit.
