The province of Córdoba is preparing to host the Sierra Morena Rally 2026, a major motorsport event that, in its 43rd edition, is integrated into the European Rally Championship. This fact has significantly boosted the participation of international teams, raising the competitive level of the event.
Although the decisive days will be held on Saturday and Sunday, the rally atmosphere will begin to be felt in the streets of Córdoba from Thursday, April 16. The inaugural ceremony will take place in Las Tendillas at 20:00, where participants will receive the traditional starting flag, offering fans a first opportunity to interact with drivers and vehicles.
On Friday, the action will intensify with the shakedown and qualifying stage in Los Villares. In the evening, from 20:00, the first timed stage will be held, an urban route on Avenida Conde de Vallellano in Córdoba, promising a concentrated and explosive spectacle.
Saturday will be marked by classic stages such as Obejo-Villanueva de Córdoba (20.9 km), with passes at 09:30 and 15:45. This will be followed by Pozoblanco-Villaharta (26.1 km) at 11:05 and 17:20, a segment that will test mechanical endurance. To close the day, the Espiel stage (4.8 km) at 12:25 and 18:50, will present a more technical layout with potential surprises.
Sunday will be crucial for determining the champions. The day will begin in Obejo (8.95 km) at 08:05 and 13:55. Subsequently, the Villaviciosa stage, the longest at 27.05 kilometers, will be run at 09:20 and 15:10, where drivers will seek maximum speeds. Finally, Villanueva del Rey (13.6 km) will host the last stage at 10:35 and the Power Stage at 17:05, which will award extra points and decide the final victory.
In total, the 43rd Sierra Morena Rally will comprise 13 timed stages totaling 203.8 kilometers, complemented by 667.18 kilometers of liaison, reaching a total mileage of 870.98 kilometers. This format complies with FIA ERC regulations, with 23.4% of the total route dedicated to timed stages.
