The Councilor for Education and Environment, María Teresa Risueño, has condemned these acts, calling them "foolishness" and an "absolutely reprehensible action," as they deprive children and families of spaces for leisure and community.
The material damage will necessitate both children's playgrounds remaining sealed for a prolonged period until the necessary comprehensive repairs can be carried out. The councilor highlighted the economic cost and administrative complexity involved in these acts of vandalism.
“"When a children's playground is destroyed, not only is a municipal facility damaged; we are depriving our little ones of a space to play, enjoy, and socialize."
The local government is calling for citizen cooperation so that residents report such behavior and help preserve public property. "What belongs to everyone, we must all take care of," stated the councilor.
The City Council of Bailén is committed to working towards the repair and reopening of the parks for families as soon as possible, while also calling for responsibility and respect for the town's public spaces.
