The initiative, organized in collaboration with the Cultural Association Peña Flamenca ‘El Puchero’ and the Provincial Federation of Flamenco Peñas of Jaén, is open to amateurs and professionals over 18 years old. Its objective is to promote and value flamenco, offering a space for talent.
The Councillor for Culture, María Teresa Risueño, highlighted the continuity of this initiative, calling it part of Bailén's cultural programming and a reflection of the interest in flamenco and traditions. She expressed the department's satisfaction in continuing to support this artistic manifestation deeply rooted in local culture.
Risueño encouraged singers to participate, inviting those with a passion for flamenco to register to enjoy the singing, the stage, and contribute to the genre's growth.
Registration closes on October 4, 2026. Interested individuals can register by calling 644 232 625, contacting Francisco J. The qualifying rounds will take place on October 9, October 31, November 7, and November 21 at the Peña Flamenca ‘El Puchero’ headquarters, starting at 8:30 PM.
Following the qualifying rounds, four participants will advance to the grand final, scheduled for November 28, 2026, in the Auditorium of the Casa de la Cultura of Bailén. The final will serve as the culmination of several weeks of flamenco singing, bringing the genre closer to the public.
The contest will award a total of 3,000 euros in prizes: 1,500 euros for the first place, 700 for the second, 500 for the third, and 300 for the fourth.
The organization will provide a professional guitarist for participants who request it, although contestants may also perform with their own accompaniment. The rules detail the various singing styles to be performed, including seguiriyas, tonás, soleá, bulerías, among others.
