The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Water, and Rural Development has launched emergency repair works for four rural roads in Linares. These actions are part of the regional plan for the restoration of rural roads and irrigation infrastructure, affected by the storms of January and February.
This plan includes a total investment of over 14 million euros for the province of Jaén, aiming to carry out 458 interventions on 257 rural roads across 78 municipalities in the province. The territorial delegate for Agriculture, Soledad Aranda, detailed these initiatives during a visit to one of the roads under repair in Linares, accompanied by the mayor of the municipality, Auxi del Olmo.
Aranda explained that the objective of these works is to "restore and allow the transit of agricultural vehicles with safety guarantees," thereby enabling farmers to carry out their monthly tasks and access their holdings.
The territorial delegate emphasized the importance of "institutional loyalty" in carrying out these works, highlighting the collaboration with the Linares City Council. The council reported the damage to its rural roads, and the Regional Government responded by quickly implementing this plan to improve public services and citizen assistance.
In Linares, the interventions are focused on four specific roads: the Masegosas road, with 1,350 meters of work; the road from Linares to Begíjar via Casablanca, with interventions on sections exceeding 300 meters; the road from Linares to Siles, requiring repairs over 730 meters of its length; and the road from Linares to Begíjar via Valenzuela, involving over 630 meters across two sections.
