Spring transforms the Sierra Mágina Natural Park into an ideal setting for outdoor sports. The program, with limited spots, ranges from hiking and cycling routes to via ferratas and night treks, designed for various ages and experience levels.
The activity calendar begins on April 18 with a demanding 68-kilometer cycling route, connecting Valdepeñas de Jaén, Noalejo, and Campillo de Arenas. This route crosses mountain passes such as Los Carboneros and La Burra, providing panoramic views of the natural environment of Sierra Mágina.
April 19 features a dual offering: an 11.5-kilometer hiking trail in Piedra del Palo, characterized by holm oak and pine forests, and the Al-Manzur via ferrata in Bedmar, which provides a more technical experience with K3 and K4 levels, including vertical steps, chains, a Tibetan bridge, and an optional zip line.
On April 25, the Río Cuadros and Las Viñas route, spanning 9.5 kilometers, stands out for its ecological richness, featuring species like willows and oleanders, and historical elements such as the Cuadros watchtower. One of the most unique experiences arrives on May 2 with the night trek through the Valle del Almadén, a nearly 20-kilometer journey under the moonlight and stars, which includes a free bus service from Jaén, Mancha Real, and Torres.
The program concludes on May 9 with the GR7 route between Jódar and Bedmar, a 9.5-kilometer linear section that is part of one of Europe's major hiking trails, traversing agricultural landscapes and gentle hills. These initiatives solidify Sierra Mágina as a key destination for active tourism in Andalucía.
