The exhibition, promoted by the Rural Development Association (ADR) of Sierra Mágina with support from the Provincial Council and Caja Rural de Jaén, was inaugurated by the President of the Provincial Council, Paco Reyes, and the President of the ADR, Antonio Morales. Participants, ranging from 4 to 83 years old, present pieces reflecting the region's landscapes, gastronomy, culture, monuments, and agriculture.
Paco Reyes emphasized the importance of age-inclusive culture in Sierra Mágina and appreciated that the Provincial Palace, considered the province's most significant civil building, hosts this display of the region's residents' cultural commitment.
“"Culture knows no age, and even less so in Sierra Mágina."
After its run in the provincial capital, ‘Balcón&Arte Mágina’ will embark on an itinerant tour through the 18 municipalities of Sierra Mágina starting June 7. The exhibition will visit locations such as Larva and conclude in Arbuniel between October 12 and 18, turning public squares and streets into accessible open-air museums.
“"The exhibition's itinerancy transforms squares and streets into open-air museums accessible to residents and tourists without any impediments."
Antonio Morales highlighted the crucial role of the Provincial Council in supporting cultural and sports initiatives in rural areas, stressing how institutional collaboration empowers rural development groups to execute their projects with full autonomy.
