The certification, supported by the Secretary of State for Tourism, integrates the region into a network that now includes seven destinations in Andalusia. The ceremony to present the certificates to nine local companies took place at the Mancomunidad headquarters, located in the Las Millanas area of Tolox.
This inclusion is part of the Tourism Sustainability Plan in Destination, funded by Next Generation EU resources. The initiative aims to establish the area as a national benchmark, leveraging its status as a National Park and UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve to attract visitors committed to natural heritage conservation.
The certified entities include a variety of rural accommodations, outdoor activity providers, and restaurants across the eight municipalities that make up the territory. Following a six-month verification process, these businesses will now participate in joint promotional campaigns and trade fairs under the Soy Ecoturista brand.
