The Civil Guard has proceeded with the evacuation of approximately 300 residents from the villages of Las Veredas, Acebuche, and Arroyo in Almonaster La Real. The decision was made due to the progression of the fire that started around 8:42 this morning.
As announced by counselor Antonio Sanz, the fire has been elevated to an emergency phase, operational situation 1. Therefore, the evacuation of inhabitants from the affected area has been decided.
Sources from the Infoca operation have indicated to Huelva Información that the evacuation is being carried out as a precautionary measure, primarily due to the smoke generated by the fire, and not because the homes are in immediate danger.
The Civil Guard has released a video showing how they are asking the population to leave their homes in Las Veredas.
