The special summer operation in La Iruela (Jaén) will include an increased presence of the Guardia Civil. This measure responds to the significant rise in population and visitors the town experiences, particularly in its district of Arroyo Frío, a key destination within the Natural Park of Sierras de Cazorla, Segura y Las Villas.
The decision was made at the Local Security Board meeting, co-chaired by the Spanish Government's sub-delegate in Jaén, Manuel Fernández, and the mayor of La Iruela, Daniel Sánchez. Representatives from the Guardia Civil and the Local Police also participated to analyze the municipality's security needs during the peak tourist months.
Manuel Fernández emphasized the importance of collaboration between administrations and security forces to provide the best service to residents and visitors, describing institutional coordination as "essential" for a safe environment.
For his part, Mayor Daniel Sánchez thanked the Spanish Government and the Guardia Civil for their commitment to adapting resources to the notable increase in population during the summer season, especially in Arroyo Frío.
All participating administrations reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining permanent coordination to effectively respond to security demands arising from increased tourist activity, thereby ensuring the smooth running of the summer season and the protection of residents and visitors.
