The deputy responsible for the Roads and Works Service of the Provincial Council of Cádiz, Javier Bello, accompanied by the mayoress of Olvera, Remedios Palma, and provincial technical staff, visited the roads to assess the outcome of the interventions. Both routes, which provide access to Olvera from the A-384 and connect to Algodonales, have been open to traffic for several weeks.
On the CA-9102 road, over 350,000 euros were invested to address a landslip that endangered the stability of the carriageway. The company Geocaminos carried out the removal of displaced earth, the installation of a containment screen, slope stabilization, and improvements to drainage.
Meanwhile, on the CA-9109, work focused on restoring stability against imminent collapse at several points along the route. The contractor Manuel Alba executed these works, with a budget close to 1.8 million euros, which also included a similar intervention on the CA-9123 (Gaidovar).
The Provincial Council continues its work on the CA-9101 (Olvera-Coripe) with an investment of nearly 3 million euros, due to damage caused by the floods of the Guadalporcún river and the Bermejo stream. This road and the CA-9113 (El Gastor-Setenil) are the only ones that remain partially closed. The rest of the more than 20 roads affected by the storms have already returned to full operational capacity.
Javier Bello expressed his satisfaction with the speed and effectiveness with which the Provincial Council responded to the critical situation. The provincial administration has allocated over 20 million euros for emergency works to restore the provincial road network after the winter storms.
