The council seeks to facilitate the opening of new businesses and for self-employed individuals in this municipal space located in the heart of the historic center, on Calle Pico. The call, published this May, aims to fill currently vacant spots and encourage new economic activities.
The process is managed through public tender via the State Contracting Platform, where all documentation and award conditions are available. The starting price for the stalls is significantly lower than for other commercial premises in the municipality, aiming to make it accessible for small entrepreneurs.
Interested parties can visit the available stalls during the offer submission period to inspect the facilities. The market is a traditional commercial hub for Olvera and is integrated into the historic town's surroundings.
This initiative is part of the municipal strategy to boost the urban center, a method other town councils are using to revitalize such spaces, attract economic activity, and preserve traditional commerce. Occupying the vacant stalls would expand the existing commercial offer and increase visitor footfall.
The City Council has not specified particular restrictions on the type of activity, beyond those detailed in the administrative tender document. Awards will be made according to the established criteria. Applications must be submitted before June 1st, after which offers will be evaluated.
