The Provincial Foundation for Culture of the Cádiz Provincial Council has organized 'Planeamos 2026', an initiative that will feature over 450 cultural activities throughout the year in towns in Cádiz with fewer than 50,000 inhabitants and in the Autonomous Local Entities (ELA).
Specifically, during the second fortnight of May, 44 events will take place across the province. These activities cover a wide range of disciplines, including the promotion of reading, music, performing arts, visual arts, heritage appreciation, oral storytelling, science and technology dissemination, gastronomy, and circus arts.
Among the scheduled activities for the second half of May are reading and storytelling workshops in El Gastor, Ubrique, and Paterna de Rivera; music concerts in San José del Valle and Puerto Serrano; and performing arts shows in Grazalema and Alcalá del Valle.
Historical heritage will also be featured with activities like 'Archaeologists for a Day' in Villamartín and Vejer de la Frontera, and workshops on writing in Vejer de la Frontera. Science outreach will be addressed in Ubrique, while gastronomy will be the focus of another workshop in the same town.
The program also includes visual arts proposals, such as comic workshops in Trebujena and Paterna de Rivera, and jewelry design workshops in Puerto Serrano. The circus will be present in Tahivilla and Prado del Rey, and various themed treasure hunts and giant traditional games will be held in Alcalá de los Gazules and Alcalá del Valle.
The initiative aims to revitalize the cultural life of smaller municipalities, offering access to quality events and encouraging citizen participation in various artistic and knowledge-based disciplines.
