The internet service disruption significantly impacted daily life in multiple municipalities across the Sierra de Cádiz. The connection, which had been experiencing failures since Tuesday afternoon, completely cut off internet access for towns including Grazalema, Villaluenga, Benaocaz, and Ubrique throughout Wednesday.
“"Commerce paralyzed, administration, health centers, or banks... too many continuous supply cuts that paralyze the activity of our towns with a network that is, a priori, too vulnerable."
According to reports from Radio Grazalema, the situation led to the halt of various essential activities, including commerce, public administration, health centers, and banking operations. The connection was restored around two in the afternoon on Wednesday.
Although the primary cause of this incident appears to be a fallen pole, it is not the first time the region has experienced connectivity issues. In mid-January of this year, other municipalities in the Sierra, specifically in the area between Prado del Rey and Villamartín, lost both mobile and internet connections. Furthermore, in early February, during severe storms, the region faced multiple communication outages and power cuts that often lasted for hours.
