The Provincial Council's Cooperation Area has inspected the condition of the three roads providing access to Torre Alháquime, which suffered severe damage from last winter's storms, with over three million euros invested in their repair.

The mountain municipality of Torre Alháquime has three provincial access roads: the CA-9106 and CA-9108, connecting to the A-384, and the CA-9120, linking to Setenil. All of them sustained significant damage due to the succession of storms last winter. For their repair and restoration, the Provincial Council allocated a total of 3,253,950 euros through two emergency contracts.
The head of the institution's Cooperation Area, Javier Bello, accompanied by the mayor of Torre Alháquime, Pedro Barroso, and technical staff, has verified the results of these interventions. On the CA-9106, landslides and drainage failures occurred over a half-kilometer stretch. Meanwhile, the CA-9108 showed similar damage due to the overflow of the Romaila stream, affecting riprap walls, embankments, and drainage works.
The repair of these two roads, awarded to the company Canteras de Almargen for 950,192 euros, included the removal of debris from slopes and ditches, stabilization of the platforms, and restoration of drainage. Javier Bello recalled that one of the Provincial Council's priorities was to prevent any population from becoming isolated, which led to redoubled efforts and the hiring of external machinery.
During his visit, Bello and Barroso also reviewed ongoing works on the CA-9120, which connects to Setenil. Although traffic is permitted, this road suffered from the flooding of the Trejo river, causing the rupture of a riprap wall, landslides, undermining of a bridge abutment, and damage to drainage and the road surface. The company Eiffage Infraestructuras is carrying out this repair, for which the Provincial Council allocated 2,303,758 euros.
