The operation, which concluded on May 7 with a court-authorized entry and search, allowed agents to locate a marijuana plantation in full bloom. The plants, reaching up to 1.20 meters in height, were supported by a sophisticated electrical infrastructure designed to promote their growth.
According to Civil Guard sources, the installation was illegally supplied with electricity through a direct connection to public lighting. This irregular hook-up was confirmed during the search, leading to the arrested individual being charged with electricity fraud.
The investigation began several months ago when agents became aware of the possible existence of a marijuana plantation inside a home in Espera. After various efforts to verify the information and locate the property, evidence was gathered suggesting the presence of multiple cultivation setups within the residence.
Investigators noted that efforts had been made to conceal the activity and prevent its detection from the outside. The arrested individual habitually used a back entrance, adjacent to their mother's home, to access the property, which complicated monitoring their movements and surveillance efforts.
In addition to the room with the operational plantation, agents discovered another room prepared to house a second indoor cultivation, equipped with the necessary infrastructure for its setup. The operation resulted in the seizure of all plants, as well as the electrical and lighting equipment used for cultivation.
The arrested individual has been handed over to judicial authorities as the alleged perpetrator of drug trafficking and electricity fraud offenses. This action is part of the interventions carried out by the Civil Guard in the province of Cádiz to combat the cultivation and distribution of narcotics.
