The new facility, located at Camino Paseo Arroyo Vinatero, was primarily funded by the Provincial Council of Cádiz through various programs, with an additional contribution of 100,000 euros from the Junta de Andalucía. The foundation stone was laid in January 2022, and the construction was carried out in five phases.
The inauguration was attended by the provincial delegate for Culture, Vanesa Beltrán; the mayor of Algar, José Carlos Sánchez Barea; the territorial delegate for Rural Development of the Junta, Fran Moreno; and the mayor of El Bosque, Rubén Corrales. The latter's presence was due to El Bosque lending its pavilion to Algar's teams during the construction of their own facilities.
The execution of the pavilion presented technical challenges because the plot, previously a landfill, required deep foundation work with piles up to 16 meters to ensure stability. The main rectangular building offers 1,150 square meters for sports practice, complemented by changing rooms, storage areas, and restrooms, reaching a total area of 1,400 square meters.
Mayor Sánchez Barea highlighted that the pavilion's opening fulfills a key objective for the municipality of approximately 1,400 residents, aiming to provide dignified facilities and future prospects. Delegate Vanesa Beltrán emphasized how the new facility 'enlivens the town' and advocated for investment in smaller municipalities, ensuring equal opportunities.
The inaugural day included a futsal triangular match featuring CD Algarense, Xerez Toyota Nimauto, and Alchoyano. The event was also attended by the territorial delegate for Development of the Junta, Carmen Sánchez; the mayor of Cádiz, Bruno García; and national deputy Pedro Gallardo. Journalist Fernando García hosted the ceremony, recalling the local athlete Ezequiel Montero 'Zequi'.
