Designers Rocío Osorno and Nicolás Montenegro have unveiled their new flamenco-inspired collections at the 'Sevilla Couture' fashion show, organized by Vanitatis magazine at the Fundación Cajasol, setting the trends for the upcoming Feria de Abril.

As April arrives, Seville is filled with a festive atmosphere that blends with flamenco fashion. Various events mark the Sevillian calendar, preparing the ground for the highly anticipated Feria de Abril. One of the most prominent has been the 'Sevilla Couture' fashion show, which served as a platform for the creations of Rocío Osorno and Nicolás Montenegro.
The event, held at the Fundación Cajasol and organized by Vanitatis magazine as part of the 'Preludio de primavera' series, not only kicks off the Feria but also establishes itself as a key reference for finding the ideal outfit for the 'Pescaíto' night or as an alternative to the traditional flamenco dress. The initiative aims to become a crucial meeting point for fashion, haute couture, and creativity in the city.
For Rocío Osorno, this show marks her professional debut, despite having made previous presentations. Her collection, deeply rooted in the essence of Seville, features bullfighter jackets, two-piece sets with floral prints, flowing silhouettes, and a color palette dominated by white, black, and red. The designer emphasizes her connection to the city, stating that her creations are often inspired by Sevillian roots and identity.

"Most of my collections are inspired by Seville, by our roots and our essence."

Meanwhile, Nicolás Montenegro presents a collection that marks a milestone in his career, as it is his first time drawing inspiration from flamenco. With his characteristic style of fluid silhouettes and a romantic aesthetic, Montenegro incorporates classic elements such as mantones. His source of inspiration was the Alcázar of Seville, where he sought to capture history, nature, and customs to translate them into versatile designs.

"This collection represents a before and after because I have never done anything with flamenco inspiration."

Montenegro's proposal includes satin midi dresses, two-piece sets with flowing blouses, and a chromatic range from pastel to acidic tones like tangerine. This collection serves as a prelude to the creations with which the designer will celebrate his fifth anniversary. Accessories, provided by diamond expert Ignacio de Pilar, include pieces inspired by figures such as Lola Flores.
