Triana Celebrates End of Velá with Honors for Outstanding Figures

The 'Trianeros del Año' and 'Honorary Trianeros' awards ceremony concludes the festivities in the neighborhood, followed by fireworks.

The Triana neighborhood in Seville concludes its Velá de Santa Ana this Sunday with the presentation of awards to distinguished personalities for their connection and contributions to the area, followed by fireworks.

The day culminates with the presentation of the 'Trianeros de Honor' (Honorary Trianeros) and 'Trianeros del Año' (Trianeros of the Year) awards in an event held at El Altozano at 10:00 PM. Subsequently, a fireworks display will mark the final end of this year's edition.
Among those recognized as Honorary Trianeros are guitarist Joselito Acedo; foreman Manuel Jesús Garduño Lara; the company Cuchillería Castilla; Juan Carlos Sánchez Rivero; the senior brother of El Cachorro, José Luis Aldea Carbajo; Carmen Coronado; and Esteban Romera Domínguez. These awards acknowledge their deep ties and contributions to the neighborhood.
Journalists José Antonio Rodríguez Benítez, who will be the preacher for the Seville Holy Week 2026, and Alejandra Navarro González, deputy director of ABC de Sevilla, will receive the 'Trianeros del Año' distinction. Meanwhile, Jessica Brea Morillo, Sebas Amaya (from bar Akela), and Lola de los Reyes will be granted the title of Adoptive Trianeros.
In the institutional category, the Vicente Aleixandre Institute will be honored. The award for Business Trajectory will go to Pipas Sevillanas. The Premio Niculoso Pisano will recognize ceramic artist Jesús Alcarazo, and the Solidarity Award will be presented to Hogar Nazaret. Lastly, the Special Distinction for Artistic Trajectory is awarded to Cantores de Híspalis for their 50 years of musical career.
