The Tourism delegation of the Seville City Council has officially presented the first edition of Sevilla Black, a cultural series that will explore the crime novel. This event will be held on May 5, 6, and 7 in various locations across the Andalusian capital, aiming to establish itself as a key cultural event in the city.
The festival's program will include meetings with leading figures in the literary world, such as Gregorio Serrano, Manel Loureiro, Paul Pen, and Santiago Díaz. In addition to author presentations, round tables will be organized to address the genre from multiple perspectives, including criminology and police investigation, thereby enriching the experience for attendees.
Complementing the literary activities, Sevilla Black will offer innovative thematic routes, such as The Crimes of the Alcázar or Seville and its Mysteries. These routes will allow participants to explore the city from a different perspective, discovering its most enigmatic corners and its connection to the world of crime novels.
“"This series is born with a vocation for permanence and with the firm purpose of becoming a benchmark event. I am convinced that Sevilla Black is here to stay and grow, consolidating itself as a meeting point between literature, citizenship, and contemporary reality."
The festival's management has emphasized the importance of this initiative not only as a literary event but also as a tool to foster reflection and critical thinking, using the crime novel as a means to understand the complexity of current society.
