This initiative, managed by the Culture and Citizenship area of the Seville Provincial Council, aims to revitalize the performing arts spaces in over 90 Sevillian municipalities, especially those with fewer than 20,000 inhabitants. It will feature renowned companies such as El Espejo Negro, Lapso Producciones, LamaraÑa, Escena Trece, and Sofía Aguilar Producciones.
The program seeks to consolidate the cultural offerings in municipal theaters and promote disciplines such as theater, dance, music, flamenco, magic, cinema, and circus. It is conceived as a strategic tool for social cohesion, ensuring that citizens in these localities enjoy culture on equal terms.
The schedule of activities for this weekend, from April 10 to 12, presents a diverse program. In Sanlúcar la Mayor, on Friday, April 10, at 8:30 PM, the Casa de la Cultura Theater will host El Espejo Negro with their show ES-PUTO, Cabaret, a sarcastic humor piece for adults.
In Cantillana, the Casa de la Cultura will offer two performances: on Friday, April 10, at 8:00 PM, LamaraÑa Teatro will present the musical Lope express. Un musical de comedias, and on Saturday, April 11, at 6:00 PM, Lapso Producciones will entertain the youngest audience with Ad Libitum.
Meanwhile, Aznalcóllar, within the framework of its Book Fair, will host Escena Trece on Friday, April 10, at 8:30 PM, at the Municipal Theater Pepe Fernández, performing the family classic La Isla del Tesoro. Finally, Las Cabezas de San Juan will conclude the weekend on Sunday, April 12, at 8:00 PM, at the Teatro Ciudad de las Cabezas with El diario del asesino de la regañá, a black humor proposal with Sevillian identity by Sofía Aguilar Producciones.
This initiative by the Seville Provincial Council, complemented by the CIPAEM program in the rest of the province, aims to establish culture in municipalities, enhancing their appeal and fostering civic coexistence. The Culture and Citizenship area celebrates the program's excellent reception from both local councils and citizens, consolidating its role as an essential driver for the social and artistic development of the province.
