The city of Seville is bracing for a weekend of high tourist influx, with its hotels reporting a “technical full house” due to the convergence of two major events. The Copa del Rey final, scheduled for this Saturday at the La Cartuja stadium between Atlético de Madrid and Real Sociedad, is drawing thousands of fans who are joining visitors arriving early to enjoy the April Fair.
Despite having over 28,000 hotel beds in the capital and an additional 9,500 in the province, totaling approximately 37,000 between hotels and tourist apartments, the supply has proven insufficient to meet the high demand. This situation has led to hotel occupancy hovering around 90%, meaning very limited availability, especially in central areas and near key attractions.
The high demand has also directly impacted prices. In the few establishments where rooms are still available, rates can climb up to 500 euros per night. The hotel sector has expressed satisfaction with these forecasts, highlighting not only the high occupancy levels but also the increase in average prices compared to the previous year. This trend underscores Seville's appeal as a tourist destination during peak times and its capacity to host large events.
Given the scarcity of hotel rooms, many visitors have opted for alternatives such as tourist housing or vacation rental platforms, which are also experiencing high occupancy during these days. Additionally, there has been an increase in the use of motorhomes and accommodations in nearby municipalities, thus expanding the stay radius for those unable to find availability in the capital.
