The entity clarified that the situations described by the CSIF union are limited to «isolated incidents» related to shift coordination, particularly in fire stations located in more remote areas of the province. In these cases, outgoing personnel remain at the station only for the strictly necessary time until the next shift effectively takes over, and this additional time is financially compensated.
The purpose of this procedure is to ensure that stations are not left unattended during the transitional period, thereby guaranteeing the continuity of an essential public service in emergencies.
The situation described by the CSIF union in a statement responds, exclusively, to isolated incidents related to adjustments in shift changes, especially in fire stations located in more remote areas.
The Consortium's clarification comes after a complaint filed by CSIF union delegates on April 14. The complaint, addressed to the Consortium's Management, sought to cease the practice of keeping operational personnel on duty beyond the ordinary 24-hour shift, alleging it was done through «verbal instructions and without an express administrative act issued by a competent body».
In response to these concerns and to optimize shift operations, the Seville institution recently incorporated ten vans, intended to facilitate the travel of on-duty personnel between the different stations. The Management maintains an «open line of dialogue and negotiation» with union representatives to explore alternatives and improve team management.
Furthermore, an ongoing negotiation process for the new Job List (RPT) has been reported, aiming to adapt it to regional emergency regulations. According to the Provincial Council, this RPT will enable the promotion of Public Employment Offers (OPE) for the incorporation of new firefighters.
